Therapeutic Riding Instructor
Elise Scott
Elise received her BA from Mount Holyoke College and has held positions in project and team management for over 12 years. She began volunteering with Great Strides in the spring of 2004, and quickly became passionate about Terry's healing vision and the mission of Great Strides. Elise joined the AmeriCorps Volunteer Maryland program in the fall of 2004 and began working with Great Strides to build and manage a volunteer program. She completed her second year of service with AmeriCorps and Great Strides in August, 2006 and has joined the permanent full-time staff.
In June of 2006, Elise earned her North American Riding for the Handicapped Association Therapeutic Riding Instructor certification. In addition to her responsibilities as Volunteer Coordinator, she is also finding great fulfillment in her work with clients. She loves seeing the healing power of the horses at work firsthand. Elise also performs PR, marketing, outreach and fundraising activities at Great Strides.
